Challenge Day 10: Donate books to the Little Free Library

Are there books you have outgrown? Books you don’t read? The perfect way to clear out your clutter and to help others is to give your unwanted books to the Little Free Library. Pictured above is my friend Kate’s Little Free Library in Jersey City. There is one close to my house here in Sammamish too.

The Little Free Library is a program to exchange books within a community. For people who don’t have access to the library system can get books from the small boxes all around the country. Any books that are unwanted by someone can be loved by another person. And, if you don’t have a Little Free Library near you, you could save the books in bags to donate after the stay-at-home orders are lifted.

In addition, you can bring some canned food along with you because the Little Free Libraries are taking food so that if someone can’t access food they have somewhere to go.

  1. I have several in my area. Going to weed out some books today and take a walk over there. And, leaving something canned or extra box of gloves is a great suggestion!
