Hi everyone! I know things are getting harder this holiday season as more people lose their jobs and COVID is spreading faster than ever. Since my school is doing a wonderful fundraiser over the holidays, I thought it would be appropriate to share it with you.
This fundraiser that my school is doing is for a school near us called Thorndyke Elementary, an amazing school with spectacular students and teachers. They are also a school in great need. About 98% of the kids at Thorndyke are on free and reduced lunches and breakfast and at any given time there are about 15-20% of students that are homeless. They have so many needs this holiday season – food, utility bill payments, even headsets to be able to find a moment of quiet while they try to do school work in a homeless shelter.
You can help these students by clicking here. Every single dollar raised will make a difference. This fundraiser will help to pay rent, buy clothes, pay for utilities, get access to food, and much more. All of these students would be so grateful for a donation of any amount. If you want to learn more, you can check out the video here. This is the link to my school’s website and you can donate by scrolling down to the donation link.
If you don’t want to donate to Thorndyke but still want to help, you can still donate to local food banks or homeless shelters to support your community.
